Genova
I INADVERTENTLY found myself walking along the old Strada Maggiore, and happily discovered the Rolli Palaces lining the street in a very stately manner. I had always admired Genova as an exemplary port city with narrow streets and tall buildings, but these urban palazzi were something new for me, a fortunate discovery one can only stumble on when traveling with a wandering mindset.

It’s not every day you make a wrong turn and find yourself looking at a palazzo designed by the great Peter Paul Rubens.
