San Francisco

FROM VICTORIAN to high classical, San Francisco is always a treat to visit. Its geographical context provides for an unusual application of a city grid, which only enriches the sights as you walk on its hilly streets, not to mention the skyline on which the ocean—and sometimes the bridge—is visible.

Old street cars and the mechanism used to drive them up steep streets have proved to be a timeless engineer wonder.

It’s just a great urban example of good buildings making good streets at a human scale!
